Your Therapist Is Anxious, Too! is a colorful, approachable guide to understanding anxiety. This anxiety workbook was created to normalize what so many people experience but rarely talk about openly.
Each chapter explores a different aspect of anxiety and emotional regulation, offering both insight and practical tools. Unlike traditional anxiety workbooks that focus solely on symptom reduction, this book begins with validation.
Through a blend of psychoeducation, cognitive organization, breathwork, and inner-child exploration, readers are invited to better understand their internal experiences while building compassion for the complexity of human emotion.
Anxiety Is Here to Stay. Let’s Learn How to Work With It.
Your Therapist Is Anxious, Too! challenges the idea that anxiety is something to “fix” or eliminate. Instead, it offers a compassionate framework for understanding why anxiety exists and how to live more fully alongside it.
Created in collaboration with her sister, Broadway actor and artist Kristen Martin, Dr. Jenny Martin blends clinical insight with expressive art to destigmatize mental health struggles. Kristen’s original watercolor illustrations visually reflect the emotional themes of each chapter.
Together, the sisters combine psychology and creativity to help readers develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, and a more compassionate relationship with their anxiety.
Jenny and Kristen Martin are sisters originally from Owosso, Michigan, whose shared passion for mental health advocacy brought this project to life. Though their professional paths diverged, Jenny as a licensed psychologist and Kristen as a Broadway performer and visual artist, they both share a deep commitment to reducing stigma around anxiety and depression.
Kristen’s artwork, including the original “brain self-portrait” that inspired the book, reflects her personal experiences with anxiety and emotional expression. When she shared the piece with her sister, Jenny recognized its power immediately. That moment sparked the creation of Your Therapist Is Anxious, Too!, an anxiety workbook designed to help others feel seen, understood, and less alone.
A portion of all proceeds is donated to suicide prevention efforts.
