We know that starting therapy, or even reaching out, can come with a lot of unknowns. That’s why we’ve created this page to answer some of the most common questions we hear from new and prospective clients. From insurance to fit, we want you to feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Your questions are welcome here. We want you to feel informed, empowered, and at ease as you begin.
Therapy is a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns with support—not pressure. You don’t need to know what to say or how to start. There’s no one right way to “do therapy.” We’ll meet you where you are and move at your pace. What matters most is the relationship and knowing you don’t have to figure things out alone.
Our office is in downtown Chicago, near Jackson & Dearborn, easily accessible by the Blue Line and other public transit. We also offer therapy via secure telehealth for clients anywhere in Illinois.
Yes. We offer telehealth sessions to clients across the state of Illinois via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.
We are in-network with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. For clients with other insurance, we can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Our standard session fees vary depending on the provider’s licensure and experience but typically range from 125.00 -180.00.During the consultation process, we’ll go over specific rates and discuss insurance or out-of-network options. Sliding scale options may be available in select cases.
We start with a chemistry call: a short, informal consultation where we learn more about you and what you’re looking for in a therapist. We then thoughtfully match you with someone on our team who aligns with your needs, preferences, and identity when possible.
We provide long-term, insight-oriented therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Our specialties include trauma therapy, EMDR, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming care, sex therapy, neurodivergence, grief, religious trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. You can read about each on our Services page.
Yes. Fit matters deeply to us. If at any point the connection doesn’t feel right, we’ll support you in switching therapists within our practice or offer referrals to someone who may be a better match.
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee unless otherwise discussed with your therapist.
Yes. Our entire practice is rooted in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and anti-oppressive values. We understand that therapy can feel vulnerable—and we work to earn your trust over time, not demand it.
Absolutely. We are a queer-led, inclusive practice deeply committed to affirming all sexual and gender identities. Many of our therapists also specialize in working with clients navigating identity exploration and systemic marginalization.
