Stef Stone, LCSW (she/they)

Hi, I’m Stef Stone, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Gemstone Wellness. As a queer therapist myself, I’m passionate about working with people who are exploring gender and sexual identity, queerness, and polyamory and/or non-monogamy. I also support folks who are navigating people-pleasing, self-esteem struggles, ADHD, anxiety, and depression.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship. I show up as a whole person and invite you to do the same! Sessions are collaborative and grounded, with room to think out loud, try on ideas, and name things that feel half-formed or messy. You don’t need the perfect words here. Sometimes growth starts with unfinished thoughts. I’m naturally calm and comfortable in silence, and I use that space intentionally to help you reflect, process, and feel supported.

My approach is flexible and shaped around you. Our work might include learning how to tolerate big emotions, understanding where certain patterns come from, setting boundaries, practicing self-advocacy, building coping skills, or gently reconnecting with younger parts of yourself.

I’ve had additional training in ADHD support beyond medication and in working with polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships. During my training, I worked as a substance use counselor, and I’m comfortable supporting people who are navigating substance use alongside other challenges.

I chose this work because I genuinely love deep conversations and meaningful connection. Being invited into someone’s inner world is something I treat with care and respect. While therapy can be heavy, I also believe in the power of humor, creativity, and lightness to make the work feel real and approachable.

I can’t change everything you’re facing, but I can sit with you through the hard parts and help you stay accountable to what matters most. I offer a calm, steady, and supportive presence: a soft place to land in a world that can feel exhausting or unkind. You won’t be doing this work alone.

“Bring on all things polyamory, kink, and LGBTQIA2S+. This is my world and my wheelhouse, and I am so passionate about helping these clients find their most authentic selves.”
