Hi, I’m Michelle Cabrera, a bilingual (Spanish and English) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling from Adler University.
I work with adults navigating mood disorders, PTSD, identity exploration, and the everyday challenges that can feel overwhelming or hard to manage. I combine mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, creative practices, and holistic approaches to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in ways that actually work for you.
I’m deeply observant, and I pay close attention to both what is said and what may remain unspoken. This attentiveness allows me to notice patterns, underlying emotions, and subtle strengths that might otherwise go unnoticed. I value connection and take the time to get to know you beyond the challenges that brought you to therapy: your interests, your passions, your music, and the moments of joy in your life that are all part of your story.
I’m empathetic, emotional and deeply feeling and I’ve learned to use those qualities to help my clients. But don’t worry, I know how to maintain healthy boundaries and self-care, so I can show up fully and consistently for you.
I’m intentional about creating a sensory-friendly, comfortable and grounding space for therapy. From lighting and sounds to the sensory details that make a room feel safe, I work to make it welcoming without being overstimulating, so you can focus on yourself and your growth.
Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family, exploring new restaurants, listening to music, traveling, and being in nature at parks, anywhere near water, or hiking. These experiences help me stay grounded and present, and I encourage clients to find small ways to bring the same grounding and joy into their own lives.
At the heart of my work is a belief that everyone has the capacity to grow, heal, and live a life that feels balanced and fulfilling. Therapy is a place to reconnect with your strengths, build practical tools for coping, and explore who you are and who you want to become.
My hope is that in our work together, you’ll feel supported, empowered, and reminded of your own resilience and that you leave each session feeling a little lighter, a little more seen, and a little more like yourself.
“I love using art and creative therapies to help my clients feel safe to explore. There are so many ways to heal and I am here for all of them!”
