Get to Know Your Therapist:

Andrés Serrano, LSW (they/them)

Hola! My name is Andrés Serrano and I am a Licensed Social Worker at Gemstone Wellness. I am a queer Latinx therapist and love working with individuals exploring their gender and cultural identities, those navigating non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, and those wanting to explore their trauma and how it impacts their lives.

I am passionate about working with queer and Latinx teens and young adults, as well as families. I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma.

Therapy here will be engaging. Expect authenticity, humor, and a direct but kind approach to our work together. You can expect lots of curiosity and lots of questions. As a queer non-binary Latinx, I understand how all of our parts make us complex individuals and how our intersecting identities shape the way we move through the world.

Our work together may look like exploring your emotions, noticing the ways stress and anxiety show up in your body, or learning to challenge the negative thoughts that may be taking up too much space in your life. We might explore how generational trauma, your environment, and your experiences have shaped who you are today and how they point toward who you want to be.

There is nothing more powerful than those A-ha! moments when things click and you begin to connect the dots, finding your way toward the answers to your big questions.

Therapy won’t always be easy, but it will be worthwhile and you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll leave each session having processed, reflected, and feeling more equipped to face what comes next.

It is through the messy parts of life that we can learn the most about ourselves, and I would be honored to be part of your journey of discovery

“As a queer non-binary Latinx, I will honor all parts of your identity and experiences as you navigate whatever you are going through at the moment. It is through the messy parts of life that you can learn the most about yourself and become your most authentic self!”
